This was a piece of metal art at Kirkland's  That they showed as wall decor above a large bed.

I could picture it above my front door-I cannot tell you how many compliments I've gotten.

It makes a Gorgeous statement-think outside the box you can use decor in many ways.

The best part is the price $29 it was apart of an email sale they sent me. 

I purchased this one from Hobby Lobby half off watch the paper for their weekly sales.

$20 after discount and it is so Beautiful!

This is piece of metal art that I used above a window treatment on a tall wall.

I bought 2 and split one in half and turned it upside down for above a smaller window and door in the same room. Think outside the box.

Add a tall Floral Arrangement and Decorative Accent Table

I made this and you can too. I'll tell you how. All the materials were purchased from Hobby Lobby. The pottery vase was on sale 50% off I got it for $20. They are known to have great sales if it is not on sale when you are there watch the paper it will be the next week. They also have 40% off coupons on line and in the Sunday paper.

 I used my color palette of Amber, Burgundy and Green. To add interest do varying heights of flowers and greenery. I literally hold it in my hand and put it together in the store the way I will arrange it at home. I also use their professional arrangements in the store as a guide.

You will need a foam floral  in the bottom of the vase to insert the stems into. You will need a floral cutter to trim the stems to your desired height. I put glass beads in the bottom of the vase to add weight so it doesn't fall over.

                                                            Decorative Accent Table

I chose an iron scroll and wood design to go with the Tuscan theme I am using. It is important my designs look chic however I am on a budget therefore I have to shop wisely. I will share where I shop.

 I got this table at Kirkland's it had some scratches on the wood so they marked it down to $100. I used a wood pen when I got home you cannot tell.

I chose a Medallion print which is very In Style yet is timeless. The colors of the fabric chosen are in my color palette for the room so it adds a pop of color but compliments the room. 

It is important to try to match the lines of the pattern of the fabric as close as possible.

To fill the space for a small window and tall kitchen cabinets is using decorative accents like this metal olive branch. It is part of the story for the room which is a  Rustic Tuscan Kitchen.

I puchased the Olive Branches at Ross for $11.99 each-I bought 2 and split One in Half for this small window and One above the door in the same room. 

I like a complimenting fabric in the same colors but a different simple pattern like a  multi-color textured  fabric. I purchased the Fabrics at Jo-Ann's( remember to look for coupons:)

I did the same design larger for a larger window in the same room.

           

Book Shelves do not have to be for books make them Decorative-I'll show you how

Decorative Custom Book Shelves

This Home has an Old World Tuscan  meets World Traveler theme or story which is the inspiration for the decor for the shelves. By varying the shelves in heights you add interest. The Decor has Travel, Old World and Wine pieces with a touch of Luxury. I used wood, metal and glass pieces in the color palette of Amber, Brown, and Black. Yes I used a few decorative books here or there after all it is a book shelf:)

The mantel was painted to compliment the wood not sand out like a sore thumb as it did in white. By putting a few decorative accents it makes the mantel more interesting.

Before:
 16 shelves all the same height mantel was white and plain.
Books would be boring and unattractive-plus its too ordinary. The Decor should add to the room and compliment the design.

Kitchen Cabinet Decor Ideas and Tips

                                                      Tuscan Kitchen Decor

   

      Kitchen Cabinet Decor really adds to your feeling of homes decor by adding pops of color and have it tell a story. I use colors from my color palette of 3 colors for each room and the room's decorating inspiration or style tells a story. By using varying heights and sizes you create an interesting display.

      For instance this room is a Rustic Tuscan Kitchen. The color palette is a warm Amber, Brown and Terracotta. The story is Rustic, Warm and welcoming like a Tuscan Villa. I accomplished this by using old world pottery, wine label serving tray and candle. I added a touch of  vines with grapes to add earthiness. 

 Wine platter purchased from Kirkland's. Pottery was from Tuesday Mornings. Fleur de Lis Jar, Amber Candle Holder, Burgundy Candle and Bread was from Hobby Lobby.

  

        Above this cabinet I used Metal Fleur de Lis metal wall decor as the back drop and layered a Chianti Plate, Cook Book, Artichoke and bottle of Balsamic Vinegar and Greenery.

The Chianti plate I purchased from Pier One. The metal art (1/2 off sale) , Greenery(50% off sale) and artichoke(rarely on sale used 40% coupon from paper or print on-line) was from Hobby Lobby.

For a larger section above a refrigerator I angled a wine box and did a story of lemons and olive branch dish layered with greenery and pottery and glass.

The wine box was free from Sam's.The lemon plate, dark vase and greenery I purchased from Hobby Lobby half off on sale.The abstract glass and olive branch bowl I got from T J Maxx. The glass candle Olive and vinegar set I purchased from Yankee Candle.
