Dorm Room Decorating

Dorm Life
My son Blake is getting settled and enjoying college life. The independence of living in the dorm learning to manage his time and studies. I talk to him usually once a day occasionally more but I requested at least once so I hear his voice and know he is ok.
I Love it that he comes home every weekend-it is so cute he is like bouncing off the walls when he comes home-I make the time to catch up with him. Usually we go to lunch and go to Walmart for what he needs food and incidentals.
This time he was ready to start decorating his room. His ideas for his room were not quite what I anticipated-I should have known they would be-but I guess I was in denial. My baby is growing up-it almost hurts and yet I know he is a great kid and I am so proud of him-cutting the apron strings.
He wanted to do it with me and I want him to be happy so I embraced it. I have always tried to ask my boys what they wanted for their theme to their rooms and let them make choices in the décor. I wanted them to have ownership in it and see what they would like...make them happy. Anyways, we laughed a lot picking out his posters-he decided to have a competition with his roommate on who is going to have the best posters. It was a little awkward helping him find the ones he wanted-sexy models in bikinis.
Then he said he wanted to string Christmas lights around his ceiling in a section where his bed is to his desk.-I thought lets be more creative. What about tiki lights? He liked that idea but we couldn't find them anywhere. I noticed he liked the Chinese paper lanterns but they had a black damask design-too girly. So I told him I would find him some ones on line-no worries:) We found small command strip hooks to hang them. They are a little expensive 1 pack of 20 was $7.99 we would need two. In the Christmas section they had multi pack of 40 for 11.99 + my 40% off coupon
