How to pick the right Window Treatment

Three things to consider when picking a window Treatment

  1. The Design should be timeless and fit the rooms purpose. This is a Tuscan Dining room so the design chosen was a soft valance with swags and bells. The window treatment was designed to frame the window and soften the hard edges of the functional wood blinds. Also to  add a touch of elegance without being too fussy. The dining room is used for special occasions,  holidays or guests come so its nice to make it a little fancier than the other rooms in your home.

2. The fabric is a rich burgundy and soft gold damask pattern to compliment the Tuscan theme in both colors and pattern choice. Under the bells and swags there is a soft gold contrasting fabric to accent the featured damask pattern-the white lining is too hash and would make it look less luxurious so this is needed. The fabric seen from the front off the house is the white lining which is neighborhood friendly and keeps your window treatments from rotting from the sun. The final touch is the edges trimmed with gold beads to add a touch of bling.

3. I like window treatments on the wood floors that do not reach the floors for functionality so I use them as much as possible. They are very user friendly because you just have to dust them gently every so often or carefully vacuum them maybe three times a year. Where the ones that hit the you have to vacuum every week and when mopping tire them up so they don't get stained. If you have children or pets, the low hanging drapes will get stained and possibly snagged.

All these things are important to consider when making your window treatment decision.
