Holiday Cooking Hacks

 I love a good hack...make my life easier...do things quicker...Awesome!
Here are some that could come in handy and make cooking this Holiday Season a little easier.

1. Getting pomegranate seeds out.
I love pomegranate seeds but getting them out without a stain or mess can be tricky.
If you cut it in half without going through it just enough to break it apart. Take one half in your hand with seeds facing your hand fingers sort of open to allow seeds to fall into a  bowl. Wack the rhine side of pomegranate gently with a wooden spoon and seeds will fall into the bowl-magic:0

2. Eggshells
when you cook and crack an egg every so often a shell gets in. Getting it out can be tricky since it is so slippery. Use a large piece of the shell and scoop it out. wetting your fingers is another good way-who knew?

3. Softened Butter
when your in a hurry or just forget to soften your butter for your recipes here is a  couple of solutions:
Put hard butter in a plastic baggy-quart size and hit it with a rolling pin until soft.
Cheese grater-grate the butter-walah!

Happy Holidays!!!
