Fun things to to in Atlanta the weekend of August 9-16th

One of the great things about living in Atlanta is that there is always something fun to do!
Here a couple that looked enticing for this weekend-maybe I'll see you there:)

This week, The Mercantile will host three free wine tasting events:
  • On Saturday, August 9, 2014, Bubblypalooza returns to The Merc. From noon-3:00 p.m., you can sample a variety of sparkling wines.
  • From 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014, stop by The Mercantile for a free wine tasting event hosted by Corvidae Wine.
  • On Saturday, August 16, The Mercantile will host Wine + Cheese + Chocolate at the Merc. From noon-3:00 p.m., you can explore premium Colombian dark chocolate with cheese & wine pairings. ( I think I want to go to this one wine and chocolate-yum!)

atl seafood craft beer fest 2014
From noon-8:00 p.m., you can listen to live music, imbibe with craft beer, and indulge with seafood creations served up by local restaurants & food trucks.
It’s free to attend the Atlanta Seafood & Craft Beer Festival. Food is available a la carte. If you’re planning to drink, you’ll need to buy a wristband; it’s $10 & it comes with one 16 oz. beer.
Or you can opt for a VIP ticket. While they last, $24 buys one VIP pass to the Atlanta Seafood & Craft Beer Festival, thanks to a deal on Groupon. The VIP pass (regularly $35 in advance & $45 at the gate) includes 10 five-ounce pours from any beer garden tap, covered seating in a VIP tent, & more.
If you’re heading out for the music, here’s the lineup:
  • 12:45 p.m.: Gritz & Jelly Butter Band
  • 2:30 p.m.: Jerry on the Moon
  • 4:15 p.m.: Bird City Revolutionaries
  • 6:30 p.m.: Wasted Potential Brass Band
The Atlanta Seafood & Craft Beer Festival will take place at Piedmont Park in Atlanta.
